How to begin a St. Therese Vocation Society in your Diocese

Have ready samples of the brochures.
Contact the Office of Vocations for your diocese and set up an appointment to speak to the Director of the Office of Vocations.
Explain the purpose of the Society and your willingness to help with it.
Someone will need to prepare the prayer calendar and do the mailings, as well as update the mailing labels. This can be done in tandem with the office secretary.
Decide when to begin the Society. In could be initiated on the Saturday nearest St. Therese’s feast day with a Mass, talk, bag lunch reception and Holy Hour for the new members. It could also have a Morning of Reflection each year for the members, to which all in the diocese could be invited.
Using the diocesan newspaper, place announcements and ads with tear-off enrollment forms for the new society about 6-8 weeks prior to the kick-off date.
Use bulletin and pulpit announcements regarding the new society to elicit enrollment.
Highlight that there are NO DUES or MEETINGS!...only the promise of prayers and sacrifices for vocations.
Have brochures printed up for your diocese. If you would like our documents to begin with, you are welcome to them so you can alter them as needed.
Remember that you and the society members are following the Lord’s own command to beg the Lord of the Harvest for laborers and let Him give the increase.
Compliments of the Diocese of Arlington
"The Christian family, which is truly a 'domestic Church' (Lumen Gentium, 11), has always offered and continues to offer favorable conditions for the birth of vocations…"
